A 3-member delegation from the Malawi Defence Force (MDF), led by the Commandant of the Malawi Defence College, Major General John Chiaka, paid a benchmarking visit to Ghana from 17 to 22 May 2026. During the tour, the delegation paid courtesy calls on the Ghana Armed Forces High Command, the President of the National Defence University, and the Commandant of the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS).

The tour formed part of efforts to deepen cooperation among African military institutions and enhance knowledge exchange on regional peace and security. The delegation was also benchmarking best practices at NCDS for the Malawian Defence College.

On 19 May 2026, the delegation visited the academic wing of NCDS, where the College's Director, Management Information Systems and the College Librarian delivered presentations on the College's information and Library systems during a briefing session. The delegation also observed selected academic sessions and syndicate discussions.

In his remarks, the leader of the delegation expressed appreciation to the Commandant and staff of the College for the warm reception and the opportunity to engage with participants and tour the institution.

Responding, the Commandant of the College, Major General Fredrick Dankyi Ntiri, thanked the delegation for the visit and noted that the engagement further reaffirmed the longstanding partnership between NCDS and its sister institutions across the continent. He added that such collaborations highlight the College’s pivotal role in advancing professional military education, regional integration, and peacebuilding across Africa.
