The National College of Defence Studies (NCDS), on Wednesday, 26 May 2026, honoured its Registrar, Mr Baffour Ohene Asare-Bediako, for his meritorious and dedicated service to the College at the Arakan Officers’ Mess.

Speaking at the farewell ceremony, the Deputy Commandant, Brigadier General Eric Konadu; the Dean, Professor John Akokpari; and the Deputy Registrar, Mrs Alberta Kwarteng, commended the Registrar for his dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the College's growth and development.

They described Mr Asare-Bediako as welcoming, approachable, and deeply concerned about staff welfare, while also paying close attention to detail in his duties.

In his remarks, the Commandant of NCDS, Major General Frederick Dankyi Ntiri, expressed profound gratitude for the Registrar’s immense contributions to the College’s development, drawing on his extensive knowledge and experience.

He noted that Mr Asare-Bediako had been an invaluable asset to the College, emphasising that his extensive expertise and seasoned leadership had greatly benefited the institution.

On behalf of the College fraternity, Major General Ntiri presented the Registrar with a College souvenir, a plaque, and an undisclosed sum of money in recognition of his outstanding service.

Responding to the honour, Mr Asare-Bediako expressed gratitude to the Commandant, faculty, and staff of the College for the recognition. He also expressed the hope that NCDS would continue to grow into Africa’s leading strategic institution.
